Competency Profiling and Development.

COMPETENCY PROFILING ENSURES THE IDEAL SKILLS FOR EACH ROLE ARE IDENTIFIED LEADING TO A CLEARER STRUCTURE, PURPOSE AND MORE DEFINED ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE.

Competency profiling and development can be used to identify core competencies for the organisation (values) as well as the technical competencies required for each role. A competency integration strategy is also provided to ensure new performance criteria are integrated into role documentation and employee behaviour. This enables organisational processes including recruitment, succession planning, training and performance monitoring to be tailored and focused on business needs. In addition, relevant competency profiles enable managers to depersonalise the feedback in appraisals because they can refer to the profile the individual should be aspiring to.

For the employee, competency profiles provide clear expectations of performance. For management, they aid the setting and achievement of employee goals. For the organisation, it ensures all individuals / teams and divisions have the aligned skills to achieve a shared 'vision'.
